HKE society’s PDA college of Engineering, Kalaburagi has organized a 3-day workshop on “Venture with Intellectual Property Rights” in collaboration with Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM), Govt. of India. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Bhimashankar C. Bilagundi – President, of the HKE Society. Sanjeeth Hegde and Rahul Kulkarni from BananaIP Counsels were invited as the key eminent speakers at this event.
During the Workshop, Sanjeeth spoke about “IP Commercialization and IP Enforcement” and Rahul Spoke about “Overview and Filing Process of Trademark & Copyright” addressing the faculty members, principal, dean, HOD, etc of Engineering, Medical, Dental, Polytechnic, Pharmacy colleges of HKE Society.
Dr. Kalyan Kankanala, Sr. Partner and Chief IP Attorney, BananaIP Counsels, BananaIP Counsels conducted a session on Intellectual Property & Business Advantage on behalf of NSRCEL, IIM-Bangalore, as a part of the India Innovation Challenge Design Contest on 12th August, 2021. The session was attended by recent engineering graduates and final year students. The young innovators had created a hardware or a prototype of their idea as a part of the IIDC.

The Masterclass was attended by over 600 participants which included Start-Ups, Entrepreneurs, Prospective Entrepreneurs, Independent Inventors/Creators, SMEs, MNCs etc. The Masterclass was delivered by some of the reputed patent experts and Senior Partners of BananaIP Counsels and was strategically divided into four modules of 8 hours, spanning across 4 weeks.

Workshop on “Leveraging IPR in Biotech and Pharma Sector” jointly organized by Bangalore Bioinnovation Center (BBC), Bengaluru and National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru.
The workshop aims to impart an understanding on the significance of Intellectual Property in translation of the technology developed by scientists, startups and individuals in the field of life sciences to their economic advantage.

Sanjeeth Hegde – Senior Partner at BananaIP Counsels was invited as the Chief Guest and the Keynote Speaker at a workshop titled ‘IP Practice and Procedure’ organized by Kristu Jayanti College of Law, Bangalore on October 31, 2018. In his address to the students and faculty of Kristu Jayanti College of Law and five other law schools, he spoke about various forms of IP and its impact on modern day business.
The Sports and Entertainment Centre at GNLU in collaboration with BananaIP (BIP) Counsels conducted a three day Certificate Course on Law and Business of Entertainment from 20-22 September, 2018. The certificate course gave a bird’s eye view of the basics of the law and business of entertainment. It included specific sessions on entertainment contracts, negotiation skills, entertainment disputes and resolution. The course was inaugurated by Dr. Dhiraj Kakadia, Commissioner, Entertainment and Luxury Tax, Government of Gujarat. A total of 34 participants attended the course from all around the country. Mr. Sanjeeth Hegde, Senior Partner, BananaIP Counsels and Ms. Anchita Sharma, IP Attorney, BananaIP Counsels were the resource persons for the certificate course.

“How to use Intellectual Property Rights to Build Your Business?”, a full day seminar to understand the state of IP and its importance for Startups, Entrepreneurs and SME’s was organized by SiNApSE, India’s leading IP industry tracker, and powered by BananaIP. The event held on September 18th, 2015 was well attended by aspiring start-ups from around Karnataka.
Dr. Kalyan delivered a lecture on ‘Intellectuals and Lawyers’ organized by the School of Law, Christ University’s (SLCU) Intellectual Property Rights Committee. Dr. Kalyan provided an overview of IP and then went on to discuss the different career prospects available in the field. The lecture was attended by students and faculty from SLCU.
In a first of its kind, a three day entertainment law course (9th Oct to 11th Oct, 2015) was conducted at Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) by Dr. Kalyan, Ms. Sharada Kalamadi and Ms. Anchita Sharma of BananaIP’s Media & Entertainment Division. The team from BananaIP was responsible for planning the syllabus, and delivering lectures on the various legal and business facets of the entertainment industry.

Dr. Kalyan was the featured speaker at the recently held “IP for Start-ups” program at the Nadathur S. Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL), Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB). This presentation was part of the ForStartups series conducted by NSRCEL for start-ups. In his presentation Dr. Kalyan spoke about the value of IP for startups, and various steps a startup must take to identify, protect and commercialize its IP assets. He also provided a framework on intellectual property to help startups plan their IP investments. The talk was delivered to an audience consisting of academicians, IP professionals, entrepreneurs, SMEs, and business owners.

On the occasion of International Data Privacy Day on January 28th, 2015, Dr. Kalyan was invited by Bosch, a global engineering and electronics major, to deliver a lecture on privacy and its significance for Indian organizations. The provisions of the Indian IT Act was a key element of the discussion. The event was attended by Bosch’s senior personnel in information security and privacy roles .
