At last the long awaited GI tag has finally been bestowed upon the Basmati Rice grown in seven north Indian Basmati rice-producing states including Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand and parts of Uttar Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.
