BananaIP is happy to announce the launch of ‘Professor Thammaiah Ramakrishna Scholarship for aspiring Patent Attorneys’. The primary objective of this scholarship is to encourage and facilitate legal and technical students to enter patent practice through paid internships and funded research programs. Any student pursuing law, science, engineering, or technology degree may apply for this scholarship. In the first year, sustenance funding will be provided to 5 to 7 students seeking internships at BananaIP Counsels.
Professor Ramakrishna T. is currently the Chair Professor, IPR, at the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. Over the years, he has made significant contributions in the field of intellectual property, specifically patent law. This scholarship aims to supplement his work toward building qualified and specialized patent professionals in the country.
Assessment Criteria
Any person pursuing a Bachelors’s or Master’s Degree can apply for this scholarship. Applicants will be assessed based on the following criteria:
- Patent courses completed;
- Nature of interest in the field;
- Writings and publications, and research interests; and
- Potential to contribute to the progress of the patent profession in India.
Shortlisted applicants will be called for an interview before a decision is made.
Timelines
Persons interested may apply at any point in time. Scholarships and funding will be provided on a rolling basis, whenever there is an eligible candidate.
