Patent Statistics Overview:
- Total patent publications this week: 1,274 (Early publications: 463, Ordinary publications: 811)
- Patent examination decreased by 53%, standing at 110.
- Patent grants saw a decline of 14% with 460 applications
Breakdown by City – Early Publications:
- Delhi: decreased by 81% (153 to 28)
- Mumbai: decreased by 4% (175 to 168)
- Chennai: decreased by 40% (400 to 237)
- Kolkata: decreased by 45% (55 to 30)
Ordinary Publications by City:
- Delhi: 35% decrease (753 to 486)
- Mumbai: 45% decline (191 to 104)
- Chennai: 17% increase (134 to 158)
- Kolkata: rose by 152% (25 to 63)
First Examination Report (FER) Distribution:
- Delhi: 42
- Mumbai: 21
- Chennai: 37
- Kolkata: 10
Publications Under Grant by City:
- Delhi witnessed a 2% decrease (186 to 182)
- Mumbai saw a decline of 18% (121 to 99)
- Chennai observed a drop of 25% (188 to 141)
- Kolkata reported a drop of 7% (41 to 38).
Applications Based on ‘Applicant City’:
Of the 1,274 patent applications, the top contributing cities are:
- Delhi: 19
- Mumbai: 40
- Pune: 60
- Bangalore: 44
- Chennai: 39
- Hyderabad: 18
- Kolkata: 5

- Early publications: 19,035
- Ordinary publications: 25,682
- Total applications published: 44,717
- Total grants: 49,861 (Delhi: 20,178, Mumbai: 9,466, Chennai: 15,555, Kolkata: 4,662)
- Applications examined: 8,636
Industrial Design Statistics:
- 554 designs registered this week, decreased from 929 the previous week.
- Total designs registered in 2024 : 26,278.
