Patent Statistics Overview:
• Total patent applications this week: 829 (Early publications: 379, Ordinary publications: 450)
• Patent examination decreased by 18%, standing at 238.
• Patent grants saw a decrease of 6% with 760 applications.
Breakdown by City – Early Publications:
• Delhi: decreased by 95% (287 to 13)
• Mumbai: decreased by 8% (91 to 83)
• Chennai: decreased by 21% (345 to 270)
• Kolkata: increased by 8% (12 to 13).
Ordinary Publications by City:
• Delhi: 6% rise (173 to 185)
• Mumbai: 50% decline (132 to 65)
• Chennai: 33% decrease (270 to 180)
• Kolkata: dropped by 64% (56 to 20).
First Examination Report (FER) Distribution:
• Delhi: 101
• Mumbai: 49
• Chennai: 68
• Kolkata: 20
Publications Under Grant by City:
• Delhi witnessed a 11% decline (333 to 294)
• Mumbai saw an increase of 12% (149 to 167)
• Chennai observed a drop of 14% (258 to 221)
• Kolkata reported an increase of 8% (72 to 78).

Of the 829 patent applications, the top contributing cities are:
• Delhi: 18
• Mumbai: 14

• Early publications: 13,124
• Ordinary publications: 19,429
• Total applications published: 32,553
• Total grants: 43,627 (Delhi: 17,882, Mumbai: 8,159, Chennai: 13,469, Kolkata: 4,117)
• Applications examined: 6,956.
Industrial Design Statistics:
• 527 designs registered this week, decreased from 1,120 the previous week.
• Total designs registered in 2024 : 21,126.
